A village with a double "Label"

Pelvoux-les-Ėcrins, altitude 1250 m, is a village made of small hamlets along the way from Vallouise to Ailefroide.
We are in the middle hamlet of Fangeas, 2,5 km north of Vallouise.
The peak, Mount Pelvoux (3 942 m) gave it its name and the vicinity of the National Park (1500 m away) its character.
(The Village is, for a part of its area, located in the Ecrins National Park).

2 “LABELS”

(French environmental standards)
- NATURE-VILLAGE, for the village itself, awarded by the regional committee.
- NATURA 2000 [1], for the valley (the 1st label in France awarded by the European Union)

[1] Europe created a network of conservation of certain ecological sites for their natural biological and patrimonial variety. The protection carries on: Birds (181 protected species), the Fauna (200 protected animal species), the Flora (500 protected botanical species)
